When we first met with Joyela to discuss her wedding stationery, we knew immediately that her suite would end up being one of our favorites! With an eye for detail and a love for glitz and glam, Joyela made it clear early on that she wanted to wow her wedding guests from the moment the invitations were received until the last car pulled away from the venue.
Joyela, a small town girl from Tampa, Florida, and her Groom Kenneth, who is the Prince in Henshaw Town Calabar Nigeria, fell in love years ago and knew that when the time came to get married it would be a celebration like none other!
The couple exchanged vows at the First Presbyterian Church in downtown Sarasota, Florida. Following the ceremony, guests made their way to the Ringling Museum where they were greeted by professional photograhers who snapped their pictures in true “red carpet” style. Throughout the evening, guests were entertained by live performances including African dancers and Comedian Darrien Perkins, a.k.a. “Hair-larious.”

For dinner, guests were seated at long feasting tables with names inspired by 1 Corinthians 13. For example, Love is…Kind, Hope, Compassion, etc. At each place setting, guests found square charges with round centers where our custom cut round menu cards were set. Each menu card was embellished with Swarovski crystals, the chandelier and custom monogram from the invitation design.

The staff of Catering By Design provided a white-glove, synchronized service. I hear it was a sight to see! Once dinner was over, the couple cut their custom designed wedding cake created by Chocolate Pi.

One of our custom invitations is featured in another local magazine…Florida Gulf Coast Weddings! Yippeee!
This custom boxed invitation was created for our friends at Limelight Photography for thier vendor appreciation yacht party. Rebecca and Mike have exquisite taste (as you can tell from thier amazing skills behind the lens) and wanted the event theme and atmosphere portrayed through a unique and creative invitation. So, the bigger the better!
We created a custom 6 x 9 layered invitation using metallic lime green and textured natural white cardstock. Then, we mounted the invitation and colorful layers to a hand-cut, chocolate brown matchstick backing adorned with coordinating lime green satin ribbon. For an added element of personality, we embellished the printed layer with a natural white starfish. The entire invitation was then placed in a custom built kraft boxed wrapped with both chocolate brown and lime green satin ribbons. To top it all off, we placed a large white natural starfish on the front of the box for each guest.
Since we first designed and created this custom invitation, it has become one of our most popular tropical themed wedding invitation sets! We’re looking forward to creating a similar set for Alanna and Nick in the next few months, so check back soon to see how we mix-it-up to fit with their vintage-tropical theme.
