We are so excited to once again have our stationery featured in The Knot Florida magazine, and online in The Knot.com Real Weddings section!

We had such a great time working with Jenny on the design of her wedding accessories!

One of the most memorable moments occurred in our studio during the floral mock-up meeting.  Molly and Karen from Rambunktious Productions drove up from Sarasota with one of the most extraordinary floral centerpieces I have ever seen!  It was soooo beautiful and full and feminine…all I wanted to do was hug it!  Seriously, it was so “soft” looking that I wanted to use it as a pillow and take a quick nap.  All joking aside, it really was a gorgeous arrangement and a completely perfect portrayal of Jenny’s vision for her wedding.  Shannon with Table 6 Productions brought the lines and chargers, and we set up a mock-table setting, too.  Seeing the layout brought tears to Jenny’s mom’s eyes, which made the rest of us all teary-eyed as well.  It was such a moving moment, and we’re so grateful at every opportunity we get to share in the emotion of such an important day.

Ok…wrap-up the mushy stuff…we’ve put together a quick Sneak Peek below to showcase some of the fabulosity of the Big Day, and you can find more in the magazine on stands now, and online!  Enjoy!

Real Wedding: Joyela and Kenneth

by admin on June 12, 2009

When we first met with Joyela to discuss her wedding stationery, we knew immediately that her suite would end up being one of our favorites!  With an eye for detail and a love for glitz and glam, Joyela made it clear early on that she wanted to wow her wedding guests from the moment the invitations were received until the last car pulled away from the venue.

Joyela, a small town girl from Tampa, Florida, and her Groom Kenneth, who is the Prince in Henshaw Town Calabar Nigeria, fell in love years ago and knew that when the time came to get married it would be a celebration like none other!
The couple exchanged vows at the First Presbyterian Church in downtown Sarasota, Florida.  Following the ceremony, guests made their way to the Ringling Museum where they were greeted by professional photograhers who snapped their pictures in true “red carpet” style.  Throughout the evening, guests were entertained by live performances including African dancers and Comedian Darrien Perkins, a.k.a. “Hair-larious.”

For dinner, guests were seated at long feasting tables with names inspired by 1 Corinthians 13.  For example, Love is…Kind, Hope, Compassion, etc.  At each place setting, guests found square charges with round centers where our custom cut round menu cards were set.  Each  menu card was embellished with Swarovski crystals, the chandelier and custom monogram from the invitation design.

The staff of Catering By Design provided a white-glove, synchronized service.  I hear it was a sight to see!  Once dinner was over, the couple cut their custom designed wedding cake created by Chocolate Pi.

Last year we were introduced to professional photographer Brooke Mayo who photographed the Outer Banks North Carolina wedding of one of our clients. Brooke was kind enough to send a few of her professional shots of the wedding day, along with a few fab shots of our stationery!  Since then, Brooke has been a constant inspiration for us.  I enjoy reading her blog, her facebook status updates and her twitter posts on a daily basis - she is truly a motiviational force!  She wears her positive spirit and kind heart on her sleeve, and we are excited to share with you one of her fascinating accomplishments…outside of her amazing wedding photography, of course!

As you may know, my husband and I have a somewhat unhealthy obsession with animals…dogs in particular.  We have three of our own, and we often dogsit for our friends.  In fact, since Wednesday of last week, we’ve had 5 dogs in our house…all sleeping in the same bed, sharing the same water bowls and just being fabulous friends!  So, it’s probably no shock to you all that I am absolutely in LOVE with Brooke’s book Diving Doggies: A Celebration of Play Underwater

I can’t wait to get my paws on one!  Brooke is such an amazing talent, and we wanted to share her with you!  Visit her site to “Meet the Doggies” and bring a smile to your face - they are contagious you know!
